The studio is up and running, after much hard work. It feels nice-my life is in my backyard. An amazing artist is already working there with me, and DWSS is finally beginning an album which will hopefully be our breakout sound. At times things are very stressful-scheduling,working,breaking, remembering to eat-but it is all very worthwhile and rewarding. To be an artist is to be a different breed by all means, our brains just don’t work without art. I’m finding myself more involved in things as of late, most definitely due to have an operating business. I see a very prosperous future-for both DWSS and DdB Studio.
Construction is beginning on the DdB Sound Studio. Deepwater is slowly becoming a self sustaining group, which is extremely exciting. This time next month our studio will be up and running so please stay tuned to the future of DWSS and DdB.
we are gearing up to take it to the studio! the music has been very good lately, finding some significant changes in ourselves and in our sound. behind the scenes decisions are getting harder to make, but are very exciting! change is good when you realize positive personal change and embrace its meaning.
feeling better now, had some good rest and watched some really long movies. this should be a good week coming up. taking it easy for the night and tomorrow doing some hard work, mentally and physically.
sick, sick, sick, shit! i didn’t know i had so much snot in my body. i have berries in my ears, stains from the berries on my feet, a replica of mt everest made of used tissues. i guess its better to be sick now rather than later though. jus getting it out of the way!
our progress is like a hemi engine..big fat raw nasty fun fast moving bitch of an engine. i don’t even like hemis but that sounded neat. see you on the other side of the photo..
drums become more intriguing by the minute. i think it’s getting good. time to go to work on it. pip.
headed back out to awendaw green tonite for the barn burn, and to hang with nat and intern. everyone come out and hang tonite for some good music and good friends. he wrote another song so heads up people for some new dance moves…
after more than 12 hours in the studio today we are finally home. it was such an amazing experience. i always feel like something is never enough. this time in the studio i think i got a lot more than i asked for, and it feels great. these two guys that are my family are the best musicians i’ve ever worked with and the best friends anyone could ask for (even though they have collectively turned me into a coffee addict). life is good no matter how rough it is when you can be truly proud of yourself, which i am right now. stay tuned for what’s next because it’s gonna get intense…
we are here now in the studio for our final mixdown with sound master natty mcnat nat. a long day ahead but will be fun. if you have any ideas for our ep name we are open to suggestions. shoot an email to the band. thanks!
it’s a wrap! after another long and exhausting day we have finished recording and now we begin the mixing process. this has been a grrrrreat learning experience for us all, especially for myself as far as personal musicianship. i have learned that you should never over- criticize your own work until it is complete and compared to a strong control. after adding in my great family of musicians i can now hear i’m not quite as inadequate as i thought. the new cd should be a big hit. we are all excited and hope you stick around for the next go around!
we had a very long and taxing day in the studio..i didn’t really realize how hard it is to get the exact sound that you want all the time. all in all we had a good day though. got all the drum tracks down, and we start early tomorrow getting the rest down. props to nat for getting an amazing sound out of the drums today. drink less coffee.
